It's currently Sunday afternoon, the sun is shining, the air is warmer than it's been for quite a while, and there are so many things to be happy about. This weekend was, and still is I suppose, since it's not over yet, quite the mixed bag. The good: Saturday was Celia's first birthday party. Most of my family was able to make it, and it was a great time. Every time there is an event like this I walk away in awe that my children, and myself, have such an amazing family. To know that there is such a tremendous amount of love and support is really just amazing. The slightly stinky part was that Celia is getting over a cold/ear infection/tooth breaking and Maia was in the full force of feeling like crap. C would not eat the cupcake, but I'm putting a pic up from the day before, when she had one and enjoyed it immensely. Maia was able to pull it together to ride with us to go pick up Celia's birthday present from Grandma and Granpa, a DOG!!!!! She is the most adorable puppy ever. Her name is Wuzzy, and she is a 3rd generation Labradoodle. She is calm, almost TOO calm, which is such a blessing since our house is anything but that. And yes, I said "she", which means poor James is now even more outnumbered. At least one of our fish is a boy.
We woke up this morning planning on just hanging out with the new pup, but the day changed it's mind for us. My mother in law called, and I thought she was just checking on the girls. That was not the case. Unfortunately, the girls grandpa has had a possible heart attack. We got to the hospital as quickly as we could, and stayed for a few hours, but Maia peed over the edge of the toilet and all over her clothes, and while I had enough forsight to bring a clean dress, I did not bring her underwear, and they were all worn out and needing a nap. So right now we are back at home, and James will be leaving again soon. Details are sketchy, but Jerry had been feeling dizzy all day Saturday, and by 5am he woke up MIL, Darlene, and told her he was scared. I believe there was chest tightening, dizzyness, and nausea. He's been sick with what the girls now have, but 4 rounds of antibiotics had done nothing, so his body is really weak right now. Jerry is an amazing grandpa, and the girls think the world of him, and he is so important in all of our lives. We are all hoping for a great outcome and a speedy recovery. Once details are known, I'll be sure to share them.
UPDATE: The cardiologist is saying that all the tests have come back negative so far! This means it is not a heart attack. Hopefully this is all stemming from whatever he had, and they can get him on some super strong IV antibiotics. Great news!
